The Applebee’s New Under 550 Calories Menu

May 25, 2012

Yesterday evening the four of us are on the way going to Kuwait City, to try the newest burger resto in town when our friend, Rey Santos from Kout Food Group called and invited us for an Applebee’s food testing of their newest additional menu. We make a sudden u-turn and head our way to Gulf Road, where the said restaurant is located.

As we enter, a receptionist lead us to our table and give us the menu to choose to, while the Local Store Marketing Manager Mr. Courtney Tluczek, talk to us and present us their new menu and under 550 calories creations. They have 5 new creations and we just ordered 4 from them.

Our friend Daboi ordered the Sizzling Asian Shrimp and Brocolli.

Applebee's Sizzling Asian Shrimp and Brocolli

Sizzling blackened shrimp top this skillet full of rice, brocolli, red peppers, sugar snap peas, water chestnuts, mushrooms, carrots and bok choy. Drizzled with a sweet and spicy sauce and topped with cilantro.

Tony ordered the Sizzling Chili Lime Chicken.

Applebees restaurant Kuwait
Spicy chili tender grilled chicken with a colorful Asian-style vegetables, served over rice with fresh cilantro and a squeeze of lime juice.

While Juan choose the Signature Sirloin & Garlic Herb Shrimp.

Applebees Kuwait
A 7 oz. grilled sirloin topped with succulent shrimp in a light cream sauce and served with herb, potatoes, seasonal vegetables, fresh Bruschetta with sliced almonds and chopped parsley.

And as recommended by Mr. Tluczek, I ordered the Roasted Garlic Sirloin.

Applebee's restaurant Gulf Road
A 7 oz. sirloin marinated with garlic and sauteed onions served with herb potatoes and grilled Portobello mushroom cap filled with cream spinach.

Conclusion:

After waiting for about 15 to 18 minutes, the food arrived and it smells really good. We dig in and savor the food immediately. And even though the waitress didn’t ask us(me and Juan) on how we’d like our beef – if it’s medium rare or well-done, but our order was cooked as we wanted to be — medium well. Moreover, the taste of the grilled Portobello mushroom topped with cream spinach is excellent. All in all, the size of the serving is just right.

November 15, 2009

LAS VEGAS (AP – Filipino icon Manny ‘Pacman’ Pacquiao stopped his opponent, Puerto Rican Miguel Cotto during their match dubbed as ‘Firepower’ to capture the WBO Welterweight title.

Pacman‘s speed and power were way too much for Miguel Cotto, who knocked down twice during 3rd and 4th round before finally stopping him at 55 seconds of the 12th round.

Pacquiao is the only boxer who had 7 titles of different divisions under his belt and voted as No. 1 pound-for-pound boxer in the world by Ring Magazine.

He was so dominant in the later rounds that Cotto was fighting backward most of the way, simply trying to survive. Pacquiao was credited with landing almost twice as many punches, Pacquiao 336 while Cotto 172.

Congratulations Pacman, for winning the WBO Welterweight title!
